How can I identify these Polks.....with a twist...

Hi, everyone!

I was at an estate sale the other day and was going to purchase a pair of Polk monitors, but the lady asked me to return the next day because they were closing. Well, you guessed it, when I came back the next day, they were gone. I had her down to $45, too….

Anyhow, I don’t know how to determine what model they were. What I recall is this:

1. They were approximately 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide.

2. They appeared to be at least 20 years old (based on my less-than-stellar recollection of Polks from that time period)

3. They had 3 drivers, at least one of which had that flat “hockey-puck” looking center piece of the cone (i.e.: dust cap). I recall the cone appearing glossy?

4. Old school woodgrain finish with black grilles.

5. And, um….they were Polks!

I couldn’t look more closely at them because they were high up in a bookshelf lying on their sides.

And of course, because she sold them without waiting on me, I have sour grapes and want to find another pair (not that I need more speakers, mind you….)

I know it’s not a lot to go on, but maybe it’ll be a fun challenge for some of you and will help me in the process.
