    Well, I can (hopefully) report that there's no scam here, just a Seller who was a little confused. I bagged them for $395 shipped (and insured) after a couple e-mails and receiving pics.

    I enquired about the color when first listed, which led to the second listing posted above.

    EDIT: BTW the address Seller included in return e-mail, jives with internet Yellow Pages listing for "Snooky's Pawn".

    There is a chip out of the bottom, back corner of one speaker, but even my poor repair skills should be able to make them more than presentable.

    Should arrive next week, so I'll update then.

    BTW, same Seller has a pair of white f/x 500i's up for auction, if anyone is interested.

    I figured the seller probably just put the wrong pic and description together, he probably does have a pair as he described, or did.

    Audax, a VERY reputable driver company, uses 'aerogel' in a line of speakers they produce. Actually, the next step up in the rank goes straight to carbon fiber.

    Nothing wrong with aerogel.

    Well I'm happy to report that they arrived a couple weeks ago and I just got a chance to check them out. Excepting the 1/2" x 1/2" square chipped out the the bottom rear corner of one that I knew about, they are like new. :D

    In fact, I cannot see any sign that they were ever used. May have been a damaged stock return that the pawn shop snagged.

    Excuse me for a moment while I go off and act very pleased with myself for this one...
