Gordon You may want to start with a smaller model to see if SDA's are your cup of tea before you go to the big boys. Just my 2 cents. I know that I do not even like to move my 2B's around.
ScottI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
:rolleyes:I agree, the smaller versions put out some very impressive soundstages too. They might be all you need. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Bah Humbug, go large or go home.:D:p
Sorry you didn't get them Gordon.:( The winning bid was still a good price.;) -
The thought of a smaller version has crossed my mind. The only problem with moving up the ladder is well, moving up the ladder. My thinking is get as close to the best as one can afford, otherwise there will always be that, what if?
I haven't completely ruled it out at this time. There doesn't seem to be many choices available due to the rarity and people keep them.

You're so right. My first venture into SDA was picking up a set of SDA 1A's from a GI who had won them at a BX raffle. He was selling because his wife had to have Bose. I considered myself quite lucky, but as much as I totally enjoy the SDA 1A's (now here in the computer room) the SDA SRS 1.2's are the real deal.
By the way they are a piece of cake to move with an appliance dolly I am quite lucky to have a wife who appreciates them as well; that said the real appreciation comes when she is out of the house and I can truly listen and "feel" the music.
Sorry to see you missed that fantastic pair in the ebay auction, but hang in there you happen to live where Polks were born, and another pair will pop up soon.SDA SRS 1.2
