Mono-block is toast

So one of my amps is on the fritz again. I am about to give up on it. I just brought it home from being serviced for the second time in 3 months and it still has issues.
If you remember, I had it serviced a few months ago for a crackling static noise. The shop I took it to said that the board had begun to carbonize due to the years ago problem with leaking caps. They had to separate some components from the board and hardwire them to get around the bad parts of pc board.
All was good for about a month when all of a sudden the distortion light would come on at power-up and then fade away. Everything still sounded fine and dandy. After several weeks of this, it started to develop the static/crackle.
I decided to take it to a local place. They guy spent 2 weeks replacing a couple more caps and then using a very fine tip on a Dremel to try and grind away the carbonization between some of the traces on the board. He thought he had it taken care of, but as soon as I fired it up....the same problem exists. Distortion light comes on and then the static and crackling.
I think I am about to give up on it. Unless I can find another board (which I doubt) or I can find someone that wants to part with a single one (which I doubt)...I think I am screwed.
I guess it is time to find another amp/amps.

Wew, I would sell those puppies. The working unit would make a killer amp for a passive subwoofer.

No reason to give up on them yet. I would find someone that knows how to fix them properly, they're worth it. -
shoot me a PM if you want them fixed.

I spoke to Ben for a few minutes earlier today and it looks like my amp is heading south for repairs. I just hope that it is not beyond fixable.
Thanks to Ben for even offering to look at it! This one of those things that makes CP so great...the people. -
Good on Ben he's a generous lad with his time and talents for sure.Hopefully the tech did'nt monkey it completely.
