I have been looking into Adcom amplifiers as of late and have been reading mixed reviews on the newer gear. Where are they being manufactured today? Is the quality the same, sound and build? Has anyone compared older 555s to the newer 555se? Any historical information about the company would be cool too.

The Original GFA-555 is generally considered the best because it is the simplist and most elegant design...Nelson Pass's, subsequent models underwent various additions and modifications which did not necessarily improve the sound according to Pass himself. For more info on this..use the search engine....look for Adcom 555 and heiney9 as the poster. H9 Brock provides the entire history on this.

    Good Luck!
