Monitor 4's on the side of the road!!!!!!

just found a pair of monitor 4's on the side of road pretty good condition the seem to work really well.......i saw polk audio and had to jam on the brakes.....anybody know anything about these ?????are they worth anything to anyone

Monitor 4's are nice little speakers. I have a set of the 4.6s, which use the 1" tweeter (believe the Monitor 4 uses the SL1500, .75" tweeters). Not the best Polk speaker, but formidable sound for a little package.

If both MW6502 drivers are functional, chances are they're worth more parted out than as a complete set.

Good find either way.

It would probably help if you posted some (detailed) pics; you'd have to wonder about anything "left on the side of road". I have had a pair of Monitor 4's for almost 30 years.

Well I listened to them from a cd source they seem to sound ok no snapping or crackling or anything there is no real visible defects I mean there's some wear on the finish ,nothing some furniture polish wouldn't solve, there's a tiny tear in the fabric(nothing major) I'm wondering if these would sound better than a cs1 for my center channel

would these be worh fixen up maybe new crossovers some real binding posts then use them as my center channel or sould i just stick with my cs1
