here's the link and all the info you need to download and run google's Chromium OS beta

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/download-google-chrome-os-and-run-on-a-real-computer/

a link to the download, instructions for writing the zipped image file to a 4GB or greater thumb drive, username and password are in the attached .txt file that is in the download

username = chronos
password = password

Once you're booted and past the username / password -- about all you have is the google browser.

Running it right now on my Lenovo laptop.

p.s. I had to plug in my network cable to get to the internet -- it didn't recognize my built-in wireless i guess.

-- wayne --

p.s.s. if you have a gmail account and log in -- there is a chromium (round circle) button on the top left of the browser window which give links to "google apps" -- so there is a little something more than just a plain vanilla google chrome browser.
Yamaha RX-V2700, EMI 711As (front), RCA K-16 (rear), Magnavox Console (Center & TV Stand), Sony SMP-N200 media streamer, Dual 1249 TT =--- Sharp Aquas 60" LCD tellie

    Chromium is more of a "novelty" for me. I don't really see it going anywhere.

    Considering the flagging sales of netbooks the past several months, I think the market may not be there for it, but who knows.

    I have an old P3 laptop that I'm considering putting it on just because it doesn't require much in the way of resources.
    If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    I'll definitely be playing around on it, just for the heck of it. Looks pretty cool. Practical? Perhaps for some. Practical for me? Bah, we'll see. It'll at least be fun to add to my experience with Ubuntu on my laptop.
