I would love to get my ears on a set of those, but at this point I will have to fantasize.

Hard core, Mark and I had an extended demo a few years back at CES. Not anything either one of us fell in love with, but to each his own.

    Cheers,

The concept of a $250,000 pair of loudspeakers makes me a little sick.

I could have an unlimited amount of money, and I still simply wouldn't buy those. No matter how good they sound, I can guarantee you that they aren't really worth $250,000. That's more money than some people will make in their entire lives.

These look like they're pretty much a curiosity. And doesn't it cost a SMALL FORTUNE to actually attend CES unless someone pays for your expenses...like Polk...?

Curt, I understand what you're saying...but that 'market' does exist, rightly or wrongly.

Agreed. There are some EXCELLENT speakers I've heard below $10k per pair, and a few I really like between $10k and $20k. Law of diminishing returns holds true in the world of hi-fi. No matter how successful I become, I will never spend more than $20k on a pair of loudspeakers, and realistically would never spend more than $6-7k.

This is coming from a guy who is now looking around for a Kuzma Stabi XL turntable with Air Line tonearm. $28k on just a turntable. I couldn't even fathom spending that kind of cash on equipment.

220 Volt ac? Next thing you know you will have to run 3phase to you house and 440 V. But that when they start adding fluxcapacitors to amps. :)
