Is it considered " Hoarding " if it's for the love of audio gear?

I was looking around the garage and the listening room when it occurred to me.
I might be an audio gear hoarder.

This could be a great idea for a reality show..........LOL

Please post your hoarding pics. So I won't feel like I am the only one.

i got to the point that for each new piece of gear i brought into the house.. one piece had to go.. so it keeps the hoarding problem in check ;)

I've got 6 amps, 3 preamps, 2 recievers, 3 CDP, 2 CDR, 2 tuners, 4 sets of speakers, 1 cassett deck and 2 TT's. Does that qualify me as a hoarder?

Damn Jerry, that cabinet is about to collapse.

I have the same deal with my wife - for money and sanity reasons. For each new piece fo gear, I must get rid of somethign. Basically, I only buy if it will replace something I have and make it better. So, I'm not a hoarder.

I think it is hoarding if you have extra components, pieces, parts etc. around . . .

--- that you personally feel are very valuable,
--- have a very slim chance of actually using,
    --- will probably never sell.

My audio 12-step sponsor told me to say, "My Name is Greg, and I am a hoarder". :)

    I don't consider it hoarding.

Great stuff just keeps showing up on Craigslist, sometimes at great prices.

You have to buy it to try it. Sometimes it sounds good and I keep it for a while, other times there is no synergy and I sell it, usually for what I bought it for.

Some of this stuff is the same stuff I used to drool over when I was a kid riding my bicycle to Detroit and Ann Arbor stereo stores before I could drive and when I had zero money. Now I have a few buck and can enjoy it used.

Finding beautiful sounding (and looking) vintage used equipment is an extra thrill, because buying simething new at a store or on-line just requires a credit card and little effort.

At one point I looked around and noticed about 15 power amps, 5 power conditioners, 6 sets of SDA's and 10 or 12 eq's laying around. No one needs all this junk so I went on a selling spree. What a fine time that was!

You said the key word; SELL. You are NOT a hoarder.

Hoarders buy cool stuff (at least to them) and then never (or only rarely) sell.

When it's neat and organized and stuff, it's a collection, perfectly normal and socially acceptable. Just look at the collection Mr. Higgins amassed.

In all seriousness, the above is a completely fascinating yet almost totally bizarre place; well worth a visit if you find yourself in Worcester, MA.

I'm getting my senses (sleep and rest)back to 90% since my shoulder ailment has passed and maybe I will post some stuff soon. It might make some of you guys happy and at the same time build my sellpost count up.:D

I think it might be this week and through the month to come. Look out...some cool stuff, like GG has.

I wish GG lived closer. I would def. own some of what he was selling.;)

Is ther a need for older garage style receivers in the 40.00 to 80.00 range? some of you might need one for a spare room.

Whatch what I want to sell will have buyers on the west coast, just like me wanted their stuff and then comes those deal breaker shipping charges.

Well, I think I have fun going thru some and putting picts up and futher organizing whats left of my collection. I've sold alot, mainly off of CL..
A great guy came back today for another system. Smiling ear to ear, he was. Sansui sp3000 speakers w/15" and 5 other drivers w/ Real Nice Denon system,160.00

    I'll do it.... soon;)
