I'm almost certain that I'll be keeping my front projector and now that the front wall is almost all screen, my tall sonosub cannot sit up anymore.

If I keep my current 24" tube and 15" tempest, how much shorter can I make the sub and still maintain the same level of out put? Roughly, I've got 2.5' in total height to deal with.

Peace Out~:D

Ron, just a thought. Make some square end caps and lay the sub on it's side...

Making the sub shorter (smaller) will take away from its extension... I'd try laying it on it's side before cutting...

lay it on its side. then you just need sothing to keep it from rooling around. or take the tempest and mount it to the wall and go IB. if you make the sono shorter you will be raseing the tune point of you heep the port lenth the same.

Hey, not a bad idea at all. The down side is that I will not be able to corner load it and it will sit withing 1' of the intake of the A/C unit.

Doesn't hurt to give it a try though.

Agreed - laying on the side will not hurt the peformance at all. Don't shorten the tube. Build a custom rack for it and tuck it away in another area of the Driftwood.

Knew I'd seen it.. took me a bit to find it... This link is to a sonosub that is horizontal, and is a sofa table to boot. I doubt you'd even have to remove your current end caps to attach the parts necesary to lay it down.

That is one short port that guy has... but it isn't the length of your port.. wait a minute.. yes it is...
