Help with some crappy speakers!
Hi all,
My brother has been dying for a VERY budget HT system. I told him I'd keep a look out locally. Pickings have been slim, but I found something that MAY work. He is using a Phillips HTIB where these speakers are made of plastic, and it has the tiny wires built in. He would be upgrading to the following system:Pioneer VSX-D850S and the speakers are JBL 135 SI SAT. Any comments? Would these be worth 175?
Thanks,
James

Life's too short for crappy speakers!

Yah, I'd tell him to start hitting up local thrift stores...
Don't rush it! -
Look at Polk RM705, can be had for around $200. Also comes with a powered 8" sub. It'll be a nice start.

Just from what I've look at online, I'd say the Polk RM705s seem to be the better speakers. Those JBLs look crappy.
