I just bought a Pioneer 1019 at bestbuy, open box for $330. I thought it was a great deal, I want to buy some polk rti8's but am wondering if my receiver can drive these. If anyone has any input it would be great, should I consider taking my receiver back and look for one with pre-outs?

Thanks everyone!

My room is pretty small already, right now i have some old Technics floor standing speakers with the domes pushed in on one, and it sounds pretty good. What could I get for around the same price as the pioneer? I saw a Yamaha that had pre-outs, the rx665?

doing alot of upgrading myself. Most, if not all of the people on this site will say to get a receiver with preouts so you can feed your speakers more power. i just purchased a used pioneer 1018 rather than the 1019 or 1020 because the 1018 has preouts. From what I have learned, when you have speakers that can take more watts, feeding them more only makes them work that much better. But I defer to the experts on this site, I am a newbie like others.
