ok i bought an 1000 watt memphis amp what size wires should i buy?

    First thing is Look in to Big3 Then I'd run nothing less the 0ga. power and ground.

    But that is what I did on my install and have not looked back.

    Check the fuse on your amp. This represents the max current that your amp can safely pull and handle. With your gains set properly, the amp is not going to pull more than 60-70% of this figure. So if the fuses are for say 80 amperes, you're not going to be drawing more than 60amps. 4gg is good for 60amperes. However also check your amps manual as mentioned.

    I run Two 300amp Fuses on the 0 ga.(One from the alternator to the batt and one from the Batt to the amps distribution blocks), Two more for each amp and have another Fuse on the Audiocontrol DQXS. I guess I like going over kill. :)

    I still run a Stock Alt and once I did the BIG3 I gained 1 to 1.5 volt off the stock alt! It was worth it in the end. That way when its time to upgrade the alt to dual setup its there. LoL
