My work in progress...

So it's been 3 years since I joined Club Polk and I've learned a lot from the forum. Here are pics of my work in progress - both the living room and basement rigs have come a long way!
The ceiling is finally done and all the wires have been placed in the ceiling:

Yeah, the Epson 1080UB is projecting in 4:3 mode most of the time, which puts the black bars to the left and right of the screen.
Most of the material is Concert DVDs, vintage games (SNES), or music videos which are not widescreen.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

Thanks, I'm learning as I go (as you can probably see, I'm not that great at things like drywall and my paint skills suck) and installing whatever is necessary on an as-is basis. For example, if the sub needs an outlet I'll put one there. Same for the A/V cables, speaker wires, and coax for TV.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

I like the sub very much. For music, it is tight, accurate, and very fast - it sounds like a Hifi sub like a Focal or high-end Velodyne. However, for movies it could definitely benefit from a ported enclosure which I have not done yet. I have the sub set up for sound quality vs. HT "slam" in the current configuration.
Overall a very good sub, just depends on how you build the box. For sound quality go with a small 3 cubic ft. sealed enclosure. For HT slam build a large ported sub or a cylinder like the SVS's. You can't go wrong either way.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

Since you asked. Is it possible to install some shelves in that gear rack? That way the components seem less cluttered and they can breathe. Funds permitting pair up that Epson with a 16:9 screen and use its native aspect ratio, it will thank you for it and provide even better image quality.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Are you referring to the setup in Post 4? That's the current setup.
(The pic with the Monster unit on top is from before I redid the room)
Also, I'm definitely looking into a 16:9 screen as once I start using Blu-ray or PS3 - right now my friends bring over their PS3 - I'll definitely need it!polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

It's a good sub, you won't be disapointed. Whether for music (build a sealed box) or for movies (build a ported box instead) - it will deliver. Just note that in the sealed configuration it isn't that loud or low for HT.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

The specs for the 15" MKIII are borderline sealed/vented. Nonetheless, I'm going to try and go vented unless the size prohibits it. -
Sealed is just as good as ported if not better for SQ. I have dual Empires and they get down below 15 hz and have better SQ then the Conquest that I have (selling it).
