Got done mowing the lawn this morning and agreed to take the wife to get a carpet shampooer. Got the receiver bug while at Best Buy and the wife was agreeable. Wound up going to Electronics Express and picked up a new 807. I missed my old 604 after "upgrading" to a Sony DN1000. Just didn't care much for the Sony after having gotten used to the 604. Anyway, I'm excited as hell and am right now doing a network firmware update.
I could've probably saved a hundred bucks by ordering from Newegg, but I just couldn't wait....

Man, what an improvement! Surprised how much smoother sounding the 807 is while not taking anything away from the highs. The harshness I've been experiencing with higher volume levels is gone and so is the dreaded ear fatigue. Its amazing, but using a sound level meter and listening at the same level with both receivers, the Onkyo didn't sound as loud. I assume thats because of better amplifier stages. Whatever it is, I am glad to be back with an Onkyo.Fronts: Polk RTi A7's
