When you wake up with a stiff neck! UGH!

Woke up at 1:00 AM this morning with the right side of my neck stiff as a board. Any head movement or body shifts and it sends searing pains.

Time to get out the Bengay and the heating pad.

Worse part about it is, can't lie down comfortably.:(

Anyone have any home remedies for it?

This is what happens when ya fall asleep with the ceiling fan on high!

Take two of these and call me in the morning:

2 oz Gosling's® Black Seal rum
    4 oz ginger beer

Mix ingredients together in an old-fashioned glass over cracked ice, and serve.

The ceiling fan on high causes a draft to blow on your neck thus causing a stiff neck.

To soon for the ice pack Lillian, that will just make it worse at this point, but I'm about to step into the shower, get water as hot as I can stand it and just let it beat on my neck for about 15 minutes.

I wish I could do the whiskey thing!:(

Actually I have some Tylenol 3, I took two, everything else is pain free but my neck! As my grandfather would say, "somonabeetch!";):D

Sounds like a massage is in order.

    I agree

Are you sure your pains are from lying under the ceiling fan, or were you dangling from the ceiling fan?

    Heat and massage.

Do you have sensitive skin, if not try Capzaisin-HP, it works wonders for me. Be sure to apply it with gloves, it's not comfortable if it gets in your eyes. The roll on is really good too, but it's more potent. I would try the HP first.

So, ceiling fan on high caused stiffness to last until the next morning? Thanks for the tip, Joe. I should try it next time!

seconded the massage route. Head over to your local Tokyo massage. I bet Happy Ending awaits you..

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Ice is better than heat. It will lower the swelliing which will make the stiff neck not last as long. However, if you are doing heat, make sure to do some traction of the neck at the same time. Then take an ice pack, roll it up and place it directly under your neck as you lay flat on your back. That will give you traction and ice at the same time.

This would, in all reality, probably cure your stiff neck within about 2 minutes or so. All of my aches and pains melt away after I take a bong hit.

There is a good reason that so many people use medicinal cannabis for arthritis, and aches and pains in general. Because it's an ALL NATURAL solution, that actually WORKS.:)

If that doesn't work though, go for the big breasted naked woman next. Perhaps the big breasted naked woman could even pack the bong hits up for you, so you don't have to go to the trouble of loading the bong up yourself.;)

Your age is showing Curt. Hard to believe a person hasn't heard of drafts on the neck muscles causing stiff necks.

I think I would rather just have the stiff neck than have the stiff neck with all the blinds in house closed and peeking out the widow everytime I heard a noise! Paranoia from reefer is no fun.:p

Makes sense Huck but the last time I used ice on a newly stiff neck, it caused a knot spasm the size of a goose egg that traveled down my shoulders and back!

Thus far, I've let the hot water from the shower stream beat on my neck a few times today and it loosened it right up but it came back after some time elapsed.

You don't realize how many body movements affect your neck. I went to pinch a loaf and it caused some nasty pain.
