My lonely Monitor 10

So the other day I saw one of those CL ad's that make the heart flutter:
Vintage Polk speakers- $(insert very low number here).
Anyway I immediately call the seller and ask if he can identify the model.
"they are model 10" he says.
Oh boy, oh boy "I can be there in 45min" says I.
Result: I am now the Proud owner of "ONE" Polk Audio Monitor 10 series I.
The seller did not in fact have both speakers
Back home:
Banged up corners, scuffed but "ok" cab, Pretty good grill aside from one corner tear. all in all appearance- Not for the living room but.... hey if it sounds good so what.
Someone had clearly been messing withe the tweeter as the paint aroun the mounting screws was scratched and it wasn't running. pulled it out and saw that the leads had been snapped off and an attempt was made to tape the wire to the nubs. 15 min later the soldering iron was cooling down and the tweeter was working just fine.
This speaker sounds good. So good that now I don't know what to do.
Do I clutter my house on the off chance that someday I'll stumble across it's soul mate or send the bits of it off to you folks who may need them?
arrrgh

PS this is not a sales pitch......
If I were to part this out it would almost certainly be a Karma thingSounds good to me... -
I found a pair of 10As but the cabinets, grills and tweeters were toast but the MWs, XO and PR were in great shape.
I paid $25 and after selling the parts I made $28. That allowed me to add some extra to donate to a favorite charity here at CP.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Perhaps you can find some old mono recordings and experience them as they were meant to be heard!

I say you hold onto it; a single 10 may work well for a center-channel speaker. Find 4 more Peerless speakers.polkaudio Monitor 5 Series II

Duly noted
I'm still on the fence about this here big box currently blocking easy access to my geetars;)Sounds good to me... -
^ geetars you say? Whatcha play? I personally like old Kramer/Charvel and ESP geetars myself. Although I just bought a strat after MANY years of not having one. And also have a nice Telecaster that should be here Tuesday.--Gary--

Either the audio god is smiling down on me or the pocket book demon has my account number because.....
What's it been a week?
This Monitor 10 has been sitting here next to my desk grinning at me saying "Didn't I sound good? You secretly like me more than your Lsi's don't you?" while I cruise the ether for a new turntable and try to ignore it's subversive whispering.
Then just after I get home to set up my new table (another thread soon) I decide to peak, just peak mind you, at CL. Top of the page:
Polk Audio Monitor 10
Worse yet wife and little one just left town to visit family and so I am left with an empty house, the abillity to crank it up and no self restraint.
What could I do?
Lonely, meet Left and Right! (not my photos. lifted from CL)

Rev, I do believe that there qualifies as a true "miracle"

Tele till I die man! Looove that twang. (american standard of course )
the other mainstay is my much loved (read "abused") Alvarez 25th anniversary model. the ones being blocked by the speaker are just some beaters and my jazz bass which I never play any moreSounds good to me... -
Good score!
Hang on to it and keep CL your friend. I weekly ply the list when not in shopping mode (as in a "want it within the next two weeks") to see what good deal can be shagged (as in a "have the money, a good deal came my way" sort of thing). Result: Singles of the Monitor series (for some reason, especially the 5, 7 and 10 series) show up with surprising regularity.
Just monitor CL areas, say within 150 miles of where you are and you will come across a soul mate for your single within a year. Single speakers can be bought much more cheaply than two that make up a pair. The seller realizes that a single speaker does not equal stereo, regardless of how good the speaker sounds!
