I just purchased the rm7200. When I read the manual about hooking up the subwoofer it states for best sound, DO NOT USE THE "SUBWOOFER OUTPUT".
One of the reasons I purchased the system was so I could use the subwoofer output on my Onkyo TX-DS494 and save a lot of touble hooking up all the extra speaker cables.
What gives and what should I do.

Hello,
Thanks for participating in the Forum. The important consideration is the correct matching of the satellite speakers and the upper frequency output of the sub-woofer. The problem with using the receiver's sub-out is this is typically 80 or 90 Hz. The satellite speaker reproduce sound to around 100 to 130 Hz depending upon where they are placed. We recommend using the speaker level input into the sub-woofer so the low pass filter adjustment, on the PSW550, can be adjusted to give a smooth blending with the satellites. This is necessary to give a seamless blending with the satellites.
I hope this is helpful information.
