    Was eating at a Red Robin restaurant with some friends the other day and Home sweet home by Motley Crue came on over the speakers , only it sounded like a guy with his nuts in a vise. :confused:

    We all looked at each other and basically said WTF out loud in unison. So I had to look up remakes , I am guessing it was this ???

    I'll be the black sheep and say that it was pretty good for a cover. I bet I would have absolutely loved it had I been there in person. Concerts for me are as much about the atmosphere as the music.

    He may not be Eddie Van Halen...but John Mayer is an pretty good guitarist in his own right. Van Halen has his own distinct style that is not easy to copy. If you doubt Mayers abilty pick up a copy of "Try" by the John Mayer Trio.

    The Panama cover wasn't terrible...it just wasn't Eddie Van Halen and DLR.

    The kid can play the guitar...but that doesnt mean he shouldve tried to do a cover over Panama and it doesnt excuse him for royally messing up that song.

    I'm not a big fan of his singing either way...and I've heard the kid is a huge ****.

    I like Van Halen...I also like Mayer. He has put out some really good music IMO. Do I like all of it? No. Then again...Van Halen has put out some crap as well.

    Yep that's like saying one wouldn't buy Sheryl Crow albums because of her politics. I don't care what she spews in private, I love her music so I buy it. Same thing with John Lennon who gives a flip about his politics.

    Regardless of what some of you think...I like the majority of his music. I'm sure there is stuff some of you Mayer-haters think is wonderful that I think absolutely sucks. I also would tend to think EC and BG would have a pretty good eye and ear for talent...probably much better than some on THIS forum.
