So what were her actual damages other than a good nap?

"I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it's 4:00 in the morning. Nobody's on the plane. Nothing."
She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her four hours later.

Was that an invisible cleaning crew? A robotic cleaning crew? Or is she just making it up as she goes along.
McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment

They should charge her extra for extended use of the plane. What a f***ing idiot.

You really have to be a heavy sleeper to be able to sleep that long on a plane and not wake up on landing or when all the people are getting off the plane. . . Maybe she was passed out, not asleep.

Now if she was locked in the plane with her idiot attorney, that may be cruel and unusual punishment.

It is unbelievable what some people think they can get away with. the legal system in this country should not allow these types of cases.

Until people start getting punished for frivolous lawsuits, this crap will keep happening.

Good point, I've flown on a couple of valiums, and while I slept pretty good, there was no doubt about when we were getting ready to land.

She may have a case on the negligence charge, but the other 2 charges are pure BS and she needs to be slapped with them.

Saw the clip....flight was delayed for 18 hours prior to this. That's quite a bit of time to kill in the airport lounge with the beer & sidecar special. She's probably looking for a way to recover some of the funds she spent on that bar tab....

While false imprisonment is a stretch, I would expect the flight attendants to wake me up if I didn't wake up on my own.

Now I wouldn't sue for it, I'd be pissed if I missed a flight or something because of it.

agree. False imprisonment won't stand. 1 it seems odd that she would be on a plane by herself after everyone else left, the police for one would want to question her why are you still here, and why are you in such a big hurry to leave, you weren't before seeing you took a nice snooze I'm sure 5 more minutes won't kill ya 2 what seems strange is why when all of a sudden when she was trying to leave did they magically appear?
to me a normal thing was that the flight people probably try to wake her up but she was probably so drunk she wouldn't so they called the cops and when everyone was gone now she freaks out.

Though I do think this is on the flight attendents for not checking to be sure everyone was off the plane, this has NOTHING to do with the legal system. Its a customer service problem between her and the airline, and for this to even appear in a court proves how flawed the system is to begin with...

The wheels rolling along the ground is what used to PUT me to sleep.

One Saturday night on a deadhead kind of thing, we left McGuire, I was dead to the world before we hit the Atlantic coast, and don't remember a thing until getting rousted (I was in a hammock, in a sleeping bag) and somebody shouting at me that we were on final going into Pisa, Italy. Go to sleep in Jersey, wake up in Italy. Who do I sue?

I would think their would have to be some intent with the False Imprisonment. Don't see that going anywhere. She will get some cash on the negligence though.

Did anyone watch her statement she gave? She was talking about how tormented she was about the whole "ordeal" and tried to pull out some tears in the process.

Only in america could you say you were mentally scarred for being stuck in a massive plane for a few hours and get away with it.

I am sure there was no blood test to determine just how many sleeping pills she took.

There is a service issue here as for security purposes this woman should have been in police custody when the last airline employee exited the plane. So this should not be allowed to happen. That said, it has nothing to do with her rights or grounds for a lawsuit. This has to do with airline security. She looked like an adult, an adult should be able and responsible for waking themselves up from a nap.
