Hey guys,
Recently snagged some Monitor7s after a brief hiatus with Audio. Trying to get back in as inexpensively as possible... Here are my requisites:
1. Needs optical input OR HDMI connectivity w/ audio passthrough (my TV can only output audio via optical)
2. As cheap as possible? Ideally I'm thinking an old HK surround amp with optical, or maybe a Pio Elite?

Let me know what you have, or any recommendations. Thanks.

Check around. I know I got my receiver from crutchfield, they matched Vanns, and saved me over 100 bucks.
So I know you wanted surround, I mean check ebay, most times HarmanAudio (i think that the name) sells their stuff factory direct and I haven't seen a receiver go over 500 no matter what the retail price was for it.
Ebay may be your best choice.
    Heres the link to ebay.

Saw those... giving the Denon some consideration. Just didn't want to tirekick, as I'm honestly thinking even less than that?? Realize I'm pushing my luck--I think I take for granted all the great buys I've landed on Craigslist.

If you could stumble upon an H/K 75 or similar it would be nice. I have one that I used to power my Monitor 7's. I couldn't sell it because it has a few issues and has been relegated to garage duty.

If you decide you want to kick the tires, let me know.

Good luck. I would be nice to find something local to avoid the shipping.

And what do I find after posting this, but a pair of Monitor10s for $50 locally. I'll never get an amp at this rate! :P Thanks though, I'll let you know if I want to venture down that road.

WOW! Nice deal. Who needs an amp when you're getting speakers at those prices.
