They can do it if they try. Two packages mailed from Jersey to different locations in California on the 17th of May, were both delivered on the 19th. Media Mail.

George, your packages have been getting to me in under 7 days lately. Considering the border in between and the other side of the continent, I'd say that's lightning fast.

Despite the torrent of complaints, I think USPS rocks. I used to hate to go to the post office but now that they have those self-service kiosks for mailing letters and packages, there's no wait (most people are still waiting in line) and its a breeze. Furthermore, I've never had something not reach me or my sender. Pretty respectable record.

I don't even bother with the Kiosks any more. Just setup an online account with USPS, print your postage and they pick it up for you.

I use a can of spray adhesive, just buzz the back of the postage I have printed and slap them on the box.

Yeah, I was very surprised that the package came so fast George. The prior ones each took about 5 days. Each of the previous times the package arrived at the regional distribution center relatively quickly, and then sat for a bit. I'm assuming they just take a low priority and it might depend on other mail volume at the time.

That's because it went by air George. If you were to send it here it would take a week.

I figure every package I sent Media Mail to California over the last 5 years has gone by air Joe. None made it in close to 2 days. Try again.

A couple times I ordered from you, it took USPS 3 days IIRC, George.

Perhaps USPS is trying to put Fedex and UPS out of business? Either way, I am not complaining.

    Have a great weekend GG!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

From what I understand, USPS uses Fedex when their packages have to go by air.

The USPS has a contract with Fedex to fill out their planes to the max weight to move the mail. Almost all USPS parcels now take a ride on the Fedex Air or Ground system. Media Mail is filler, so if they've got a sack, tub, etc. that's not full but is a higher service level they'll fill with things like media mail. Overall USPS volume is way down, so everything is moving faster.
