Speaker Selector Switches

Ok... here is my setup.
Amp: 250 wpc (2-channel) Krell.
Speakers: Polk 3.1's, Monitor 10's, & CRS+'s
I'm thinking about buying a used Adcom 3-speaker selector switch for switching the amp between the various speakers.
These selector switches also provide ohm-protection to protect
the amp in case all are simultaneously driven.
How do these speaker selector switches work (good, fair, bad)???
Rotel makes a selector swtich (4-way) that includes a Direct
for the main channel (in my case, the 3.1's).
What I want to know is this... how significantly would these speaker switches degrade the sound (when using Polk Spkr's).
I really don't want to buy any more amps. I'd also rarely drive more than one set a time.
Advice???
Thanks.
