I have a pair of 1980 Model 5s with an Onkyo 508 receiver. Looking to replace old KLH center and surrounds. Center first. Polk recommends CSi-A4 but I don't want to spend that much $. How would the CS1 or CS10 match. Do I need to worry about timbre match with the Onkyo Audyssey? Mostly used for TV and movies. Thanks for the help.

The CS350LS or CS 400i are the best matches for vintage Polks. There was a 400 available in the FM.

I used to run a CSi5 as a center channel with my Monitor 7A's, and it sounded great. It wasn't a perfect match, but it was more than acceptable for me. The CSi5 is the older version of the CSiA6. Polk recommends the CSiA4, but the CSi3(old version of the A4) is essentially the same, and will work equally as well.

Personally, I'd recommend the CSi5. They can be had for pretty cheap these days, especially if you don't mind buying used. Used CSi5's generally sell in the $125-175 range depending on condition.

What tweeters do your Monitor 5's have?
    The nirvana inducer-
    APC H10 Power Conditioner
    Marantz UD5005 universal player
    Parasound Halo P5 preamp
    Parasound HCA-1200II power amp
    PolkAudio LSi9's/PolkAudio SDA 2A's/PolkAudio Monitor 7A's
    Audioquest Speaker Cables and IC's

Thanks. Not sure what tweeters I have. How do I tell? Also, really don't want to spend more than around $100.
