Im interested in this brand of speakers compared to dynaudio.
Actually Im thinking about selling my dyn audience 70s and picking up some tyler taylo monitors w/ millinium tweeters. Im bored and want to try something different.
Would these be a upgrade in overall sound quality???
Thanks

I owned the Tyler Linbrook system and they are wonderful speakers. Full sound, very smooth highs, balanced top to bottom, great lows....could have been easily my last speaker.
I also owned the Dynaudio Contour 1.3 Mk II's. Even though these are "just" bookshelves, if I had to choose between the two I would probably lean towards the Danes.

I have a pair of the Taylos reference monitors, with the scanspeak revelator tweeter, the soundstage is very adequate with depth and detail that is very good. They have plenty of "air" and the only thing that I could ask for would be a tad more bass. I have compared them against a pair of custom monitors that I now have with dynaudio drivers,, they are different,,tylers a little more sparkle on the high end,,the dyn's dig alot deeper though, surprising for as small as they are.I could live with either one though.Hope this helps somewhat.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

Im actually looking at many different speakers. Audience 72se, Focus 140s, and Excite 36 to name a few from dynaudio, and of course the taylo monitors. Im looking for best bang for the buck. My budget is under 1400. But that does not mean I need to spend 1400. I basically feel that my 70s are my bottleneck in my system for music. I want to step up.

What do you feel is missing? When you say music do you mean 2 channel?

If I were you, I would try a 2 ch preamp first.

Yes. I was considering the Parasound 2100 that is forsale on here, but Im not sure it will make a significant difference over my Pioneer. I do need a pre with ht bypass because Im using my system to pull double duty. Ricardo, do you think it will bring out some detail that the pioneer is not capable of producing? Or would I need to look at a tube pre like others have suggested. If I choose to go the pre route before speaker upgrade, I will have a smaller budget, probably in the 500 range because I would sell the 70s to recoup some cash with speaker upgrade.

    I agree with Ricardo.

You may have to save a little bit more to get something nice with HT Bypass though.

Anything I've heard from Parasound would be an upgrade from a receiver.

I would try a pre in the $800 - $1,200 range, SS or tubed. Look for something used here or Audiogon. If you don't get what you expected, you can sell it back with little/no loss.

Make sure you don't overpay....just saw this one that's a great preamp, but it's way overpriced:

I do need one w/ ht bypass. Im thinking about just trying out the parasound 2100. What will I need to integrate it into my system. Another pair of ICs and another RCA for my sub? Is that it? Will I need to hook my ps3 up to it also??

+1 on getting a preamp before upgrading speakers.

Danes are pretty awesome speakers. The weakest link in your rig is the avr not the speakers. There's lots more performance you can squeeze out of those speakers.

I will definately have to look into a good pre with htbypass

Similar goal I'm trying to accomplish here. Have moved on from a Pio AVR used as a pre with the dyns.

Stepped into the Parasound C-2. Intention is to buy/build a quality dac with balanced outs to feed two channel sources into the C-2. The processor has a direct bypass mode for balanced input. This mode requires an amp with balanced input.

I hope this will allow me to effectively separate the the two channel from the rest of the HT setup. Obviously this is a work in progress, so I cannot give results.
    Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,
Dynaudio Contour 3.3, Dynaudio Contour T2.1, Polk OWM3, Polk DSW micropro 1000 (x2),
Pioneer Kuro 50" Plasma, Phillips Pronto Control w/Niles HT-MSU.

So most agree that the best upgrade at this point would be to buy a nice used pre amp. But I have the opportunity to upgrade my towers with some audience 72se.
While I wait for a ideal pre amp to come up for sale, im going to buy the 72se speakers and flip my 70s. In the long run I think it will be a smart move.
    Opinions?

I found a Proceed Pre on audiogon for 600 dollars and was about to pull the trigger, I asked a few questions to the seller, patiently waiting for the answers. It was a perfect pre with a ht bypass. Then some assclown bought it before the seller responded! It was on there a total of 2 hours.
    No luck, I tell ya.

Moving to the 72 se is definitely a good move, so if the price is right don't miss them.
