Going from Monitor 40's to OWM5
So I know its basically a step down, but how big a step am I taking.
My old system (which is sold and gone) was
L/R-Polk Monitor 40
Center-Polk CS1
Rears (7.1)- Old Polk M3ii
Sub was a really old Polk PSW120 (8" 90watt)
AVR is still the same, Pioneer Elite TSX-82TXS
I already have a new Sub its a BIC PL-200 (12")
What I was looking to do was go with OWM5 for the front 3 and OWM3 for the rear 4.
I know I will lose some low end to the older Monitors, but this room is a tad bit more architectural than our old house and we are trying to seemless blend more then overpower the room. Plus I am hoping the very big upgrade in the sub will help balance it a bit more because the old Polk sub was.... well lets just say it was better off then on half the time.
The speakers will be used 99% of the time for Home Theater and TV watching, we dont listen to to much music in the house mostly just outside and when we have parties which we have a whole house audio system for that.
I am planning on listening to these next week, but you can never really get a sense of what it will sound like until its in your room.
Just trying to prepare myself for the difference. I was happy with the way the other setup was with the poor sub, do you guys think that the upgraded sub but smaller sats will give me closer to the same sound.
