Any TiVo guys out there?

I ordered the HD DVR refurb that they have for $99, and am thinking about ordering another. This will be my first Tivo, and have a couple quick questions:
1 - Other than what's mentioned on the TiVo site, is there any real difference between the Series 3 and the box I ordered?
2 - The real question I have is about sharing programs between two TiVo boxes. If I understand correctly, I'm actually transferring the physical file, vs actually sharing between the boxes. The site mentions that it won't work on copyrighted material, can someone give me a good feel for what that includes?
I'm not looking necessarily for a list of all the programs that are copyright protected, I'm just trying to get a feel for the channels or kinds of shows that employ this.

Series 3 has a more expensive OLED display on the front panel that shows time and will also list the programs that are being recorded. Also, Series 3 had a 250GB drive vs 160GB for the normal Tivo HD, which gives about 10hrs more recording time (approx).
I have both. The Series 3 is a better built unit, but it is older. The newer units have better cable card compatibility from what I've read, but I only use them for OTA reception.
For multi room viewing, you do actually copy the program file from one box to the other. The speed is pretty quick. If you just wait a minute or so, you can watch it in real time and actually skip through commercials too. I'd guess that it can transfer a 1hr program in about 30 minutes. Copyright issues have never come up for me, but I've read that some cable companies put copyright restrictions on some programing, especially premium channels, or maybe sporting events. Like I said though, I use OTA and have never run into an issue with it.
I should mention that I've had two TivoHD boxes go bad, but my Series 3 has been a champ. Both of the bad boxes were replaced under warranty, but it was still a headache. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
Well I now have two of those HD DVR boxes on order, so hopefully they're not too bad. I never buy extended warranties, and didn't buy them on these, but I still have 90 days to do that. It sounds like I'll be getting the warranty on these, $30 for 2 years isn't too bad.
