a guy is selling 3 different pairs of monitors

http://austin.craigslist.org/ele/1745473428.html

he wants 240 for the 10's which includes an extra woofer

160 for the 7's
and 60 for the 5's

was wondering what y'all thought about the prices on them.. considering the 7s or the 5s for a small vintage rig down the line.

I'd go for the 7s @ 120 or less. They would be great for a small rig. The 10s are overpriced X 2. You would need drivers before another passive.

I'd say $60 for the 5's is a decent price, but $240 for the 10's is way too high IMO. I'm not sure what the market rate is on the 7's.

I paid 160.00 for my M7's but they were mint with the original stands. I really depends on what condition they are in. The model with peerless tweets command higher prices. I agree the 10's are on the high side. The 5's are a good deal. 5's and 7's would make a nice vintage system.

yeah i was thinking the 10s were really high but wanted to make sure.. I'm going to try and check out the 5s tomorrow.. $60 for them in good condition i think is a fairly good deal too.

I'd offer him $125 for the 7s, $175 for the 10s (if they have peerless tweeters :)), and give him $50 for the 5s. -- $350 cash for the whole shooting match.

I wouldn't give my 10s up for any amount of money :D

Personally, I'd skip those 5s and zero in on something with Peerless tweeters...unless you've got RDO194's laying around. You'll be happier in the long run.

Assuming they're near mint with working, original drivers I'd say he's bit high on the 7's and very high on the 10s.....especially without stands.

I actually like the M5's. But yeah try something like offering $300-400 cash for the lot picked up.

As others have mentioned...the prices are a bit on the high side.

$60 for the 5's is about right.

$160 for the 7's is a bit on the high side. The Peerless tweets are a big plus, as is local pickup. Condition looks pretty good. I'd say $110-130 would be more in the ball park though. I regularly see M7's sell for less than $100 though.

$240 for the 10's is also a bit on the high side. Same as above...the Peerless and local pickup are a big plus. I've seen 10's go for that much on a few occasions, but $150-175 would be more typical of them.
