So, I may be slow - first to admit it, but now that I have my sub fixed with a new plate amp and a functional LFE RCA input jack, I've got my sub hooked up to both my AVR for HT and my Int Amp for 2-channel.

No more cable switching so I can have my sub play with my bookshelves for music via Line Level inputs and my AVR with the 'safe LFE' xover settings via the LFE input.

I have both the LFE and Line Level cables hooked up to the sub.

Sub out on the AVr to the LFE input on the sub

Left and Right pre-outs from my integrated amp to the Line Level inputs on the sub.

When I listen to music, the AVR is off, and the integrated amp is on and I set the xover on the sub to the perfect setting to mesh the sub w/ my bookshelves for CDs, SACDs, or phono.

When I watch movies with all that scary low LFE stuff, the AVR is on, the Int Amp is set to HT bypass (so nothing comes out of the preouts - yup - verified it) and the sub gets all the LFE stuff and the AVR is set for 80Hz cutoff and speakers set to small.

The only thing I have to do is turn the sub xover all the way up when I'm using the LFE input jack.

An Int amp with HT bypass is really cool! :D

And if you already figured this out..well...like I said...I'm kinda slow at these things.

    Hi Erik!

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I was following your previous post regarding your sub issues with interest and was wondering how everything turned out.

If we were to hold a contest, I'm sure that I would win the prize for "slowest"!

    Sounds like a satisfying setup.

If this is a true LFE input, it should bypass the crossover functionality so no adjustment is necessary.

I'm going to test that tonight as I was suspecting the same thing.

If so - I think I'm at a point where I have a workable and easy sub setup for HT and 2-channel....gotta love that HT bypass! :D
