I'm not sure what to make of this:
http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1279043097&/Dakiom-A253-will-improve

Is it a product or a manifesto?

Neither, it's someone that has plainly gone over the edge, probably never to return.

I don't care if he's selling mustard for my corndog, no one that rants to that degree is getting ANY personal info from me.

    Yikes!

First this guy is ON THE SAUCE.

Secondly, he needs to LEARN how to write: Let's help!

Paragraph = Topic sentence, Body and Conclusion.

A Topic Sentence should specify the subject and narrow it down.

    A Paragraph should exhibit:

    Unity,
    Coherence,
    Continuity and
    Completeness.

None of that can be seen in LIARS, CURTAINS, GOLDEN EARS and GULLIBLE rants that go on INCOHERENTLY for pages! Damn this is an IMPRESSIVE form of madness!!

Make sure you click the link at the bottom of the ad... you will learn how you can raise your system to "Toe-Tapping Quality"!!!:D

Why I spent the last 10 minutes on their site, I have no idea... :o

After deciding that giving them $$ was not an option, I checked out the section on DIY. This is my favorite part:
Expensive components may look good but they definitely sound just as bad as cheap ones. If you want good music, the only available options are:

    1. DakiOm DIY or,
    2. Pay someone to do DakiOm tweaks. You may even start your own business doing them for others.

So, all y'all got some good lookin' stuff! :)

Too many hits off the crystal meth pipe mixed with a couple of 40s of Colt 45! I wonder if audiogon sent the guys in the white suits over to his place.

I have to agree with one thing he said..........
If you are in doubt, always seek the help of a professional!

Maybe he should follow his own advice.

They let people advertise magic pebbles and other garbage on their site, they don't care as long as the money is coming in.

Seems like they are trying to sell a product the same way politicians are sold. Come on, you know you want it. "It" is whatever you believe. :)

So he had a bad day, aren't you impressed with Dr. Dao's other academic work in the field of audio technology?
After all he is reputed to have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

I'm not all that impressed. While I see some small amount of common sense in some topics I also see a lot of jargon you would expect from an infomercial. Whenever someone tells you "this is not snake oil" and not all sorts of other things you may be thinking, it is usually exactly that. Besides, what does having a PhD in Mechanical Engineering have to do with anything? Would I trust him to operate on me? No, that is not what he knows about. :)

I actually bought two of these. Ended up returning them and got my refund and everything.

Essentially what they DO is roll off the high frequencies in a rather specific way. I.e. it is not JUST like turning down your treble.

But, that is what it does. some HF roll-off. Noticeable? yes. Improvement? well, it does SOMETHING... more than other things out there.

So if I'm undestanding you correctly this "product" is better suited to digital applications rather than analog?
