Hello to you all, this is my first post, but anyway i just got some rt2000p's that are in mint shape, not a scratch on them--they are flawless, and even came with the original manuals too, these are replacing infinity primus 360's, and these rt2000p's spank them, :eek:lets just say that i'm very impressed with these polks, they sound wonderfull on my onkyo integra m-504 and p-304 amp and preamp set, these have nice mids and highs, and the bass is very thick--just the way i like it, and they are efficient and can get very loud on my onkyo set, i have the built in subs on 12-0-clock position, wich is plenty for me--i think polk did a fine job at designing these towers, anyway i was wondering if there are anyone who still owns them, and how do you like them, i'm just curious of how they sound in home theater applications, cause they sound very sweet in 2 channel, so how do you like them? the bird!

Hi and welcome to Club Polk! The RT2000P's were my first pair of Polk towers and I enjoyed them for several years for both home theater and 2-channel listening. They are a great speaker and I'm sure they do sound great with your amp. Enjoy them and beware of this forum! It will seduce you into spending more and more money on this hobby! :D

I had their predecessor - the RT20p. They now belong to my son. I did have to replace the bass drivers in them - VC problems - plus one amplifier, too. All covered by Polk CS.

I have had the RT200p's that I run with a Polk center and two Polk side surrounds that are di bi's and I just added two KLH's for my surround back.

The rt2000p's are very nice and I've had them for about ten years or so, I my memory serves me well. I found that when I ran them with mid fi receivers that they were unable to do all they could and thought maybe I had made a poor decision. But later I purchased a two channel and a five channnel amps from Emotiva.com, along with their pre pro UMC-1 which should evolve into a great receiver/pre/pro; at present they are still working out lots of bugs in it. Anyway when using the Emotiva products along with these polk towers, I heard sounds I had not heard before and even the bass delivered excellent, perfect. Note: I also run a SVS Sub PBS+2 with I believe a 1,000 watt amp that I purchased and now those polk rt2000p's really sing. It is a very good speaker. I am wondering if there can be found other speakers that out class them. I was able to purchase the Rt2000p at half price years ago because a Company I had worked for did business with Polk and they passed the deal on to us. Just shows you how great Polk is and I mean Matthew Polk as well. Customer Service excellent and when asked great information from Matthew as well. Definately a well respected Company they've nurtured over the years. Hope this helps!

Can anyone tell me what's the best center channel speaker that matches up with the
RT2000p's? I have a smaller C or CS speaker that Polk has but may need something I can run full out without fear of blowing it. Something that would meld well is what I am interested in.

    thx

I got a pair of used ones not too long ago and love them, super loud, nice bass and the only issue I have with mine is the mids and highs seem lacking. But I think maybe the tweeters were blown when I got them or my system isn't powerful enough to drive the mid and highs loud enough to hear clearly. I use them in a 7.2ch system and movies are amazing music is awesome too just wish I knew why the mid and highs are lacking...

Polk Cs400 has 2 6 1/2 and the dynamic balance tweeter, perfect match and you can really put the power to it

Every time I get on here I realize I "need" to get something else haha. I never would have thought twice about external amps, power cables, replacing jumpers, speaker wire, power conditioners etc...

    Congratulations on your excellent purchase!

I've had my RT2000i's since August 2001, I got them on sale at a "Good Guys" store (which has since gone out of business) for $1299, the next week they marked them down an additional $500 on clearance for $799, I ran down there with my receipt and after a bit of discussion with the manager about their "30 day price match guarantee" I got the $500 back!

They sound just as good as the day I bought them, and are particularly excellent home theater anchors. I have a CS400i that is a perfect center match, and a pair of RC80i's in my ceiling for a 5.1 system. 2 or 3 years ago I upgraded my sub from a PSW505 to a DSW MicroPro 4000.

you gotta hear the system to believe it!

I have a friend with a very expensive system (I forgot all the brands, I know Carver amp and Velodyne subs, and I know his speakers cost several times more than I paid) and everytime he is in my house he gripes about how much better my home theater sounds than the one he got ripped off on! lol!
