Atlanta is second. It was in the local newspaper today. Chalk that up to the Braves winning the NL East for something like 15 straight years, but only coming away with one world series title. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Word. I remember when the M's traded an injured Randy Johnson to Houston. Lots of people here said, "He's old and hurt, his best days are behind him." LOL... tell that to the Diamondbacks. But the Seahawks superbowl loss was not entirely their fault. Total East coast bias. Seriously, a clipping call against the quarterback? Whaaaaat? Yeah, Seattle sports makes me cry. But at least we have good beer in our stadiums.

I lived on Bainbridge Island, about a half-hour ferry ride from downtown Seattle, from 1984 to 1990, and thats just how I remember it. The Mariners were pretty pathetic in these years (despite the hype about Ken Griffey Jr.), the Seahawks were mediocre and seemed to choke every time they got into any sort of playoff situation (the QB Dave Krieg seemed to come up short in any type of pressure situation despite having "sticky hands" Steve Largent out there and the great RB Curt Warner by his side), and the Sonics were one of the most unexciting basketball times I ever bothered watching. In fact, I can't even think of the name of a single player who was on their starting line-up in those years...pretty forgettable.
Yet, for all of these shortcomings I remember Seattle residents being particularly enthusiastic about their sports teams. Their stories seemed to dominate the local news (King 5 was it?).2 Ch.

Being born and raised in Seattle (40 yrs living there), I was around before there were any pro teams there, and IMHO Seattle has had generally a lukewarm opinion of it's pro teams anyway.
The real team in Seattle was and will be again, the Washington football team.My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself. -
yeah just like in the Charlotte area, many still route for Atlanta or Tenneseeseessee.
And they knock my Bills, I always say, well who did you like in 1990 ?
OK 92 ?
Yeah, since 95 they have had 4 better than 500 seasons.
There's some other rough cities out there.
