Xcapri actually asks a very good question. the RTi series can come off as a little bright to some ears, but if you're lacking bass, I'm going to go out on a limb and say you need beefier amplification well before any mods to the speaker.

those 12's can suck down some juice

i have a sunfie cinema grand sig. arch. choice 2 425*5 in 8 ohms and 850*5 in 4 ohms. i am running a yahama vx2500 as the pre. with the level on the fronts -2.0db's and the eq has the highs -2.0-0.0 form 20k to 500hz. I have 12 gauge speaker wire running from the current taps to the highs and votlage to the lows. I was just asking to see if there were any mod's because i see that the x-overs don't look to be the best.

Going out on a limb here, change your taps around-voltage to highs, current to lows(did I read that right).

Have you experimented with speaker placement?

    hc_416,

Just a few "just to make sure questions".

    1. Did you use Ypao auto setup from the receiver?
    2. Are you using any separate subwoofers?
    3. As Face had mentioned have you experimented with room placement?
    4. How about the terminals you have the wire run into at the speaker (top, bottom, or Bi-wire)?

That sunfire has more than enough to make the RTi's sing to the heavens. If speaker placement does not resolve things, I would suggest replacing the Yamaha with a dedicated preamp. I would also suggest bi-wiring using the current source taps to the highs and the voltage taps for the lows.
