sunfire and subs

I have a cinema grand arc. choice sereis 2. I am only useing two of the channels for 2ch stereo. I also have a pair of rti 12's. I have had a problem with them beging to bright. I could not get the brightness down so I am going to try to run two 12's of my sunfire to give it more bass, and to get rid of my jbl sub. two things my amp can run and 4ohms is it safe to do this, and i am using a y splitter form my pre amp to go to the back two channels on my amp. I am also going to use my two old alpine type x 12 they take a 1000 watts each. and my amp at four ohms put out 850 i belive it will be a good sound. are there any question commnets suggestions. I also have everything i need to make it work so buy a nee sub is out of the question, also i like musice a lot more that i do movies thanks for the input

    The RTi's are naturally on the bright side in my understanding of things. What I would suggest is that you bi-amp the 12's from the Sunfire and use the current taps to run the highs and rear channels to power the low end.

    i have already done that and i have also lowered the level on the top mins 2db's and turned the level down on the pre amp.

    Have you tried some absorption a the first and second reflection point?

    no i have not. I really don't want to go around dymating my whole room. I didn have some extra subs from my car and three extra channels on my amp so i tried it and it just wasn't my likeing. back to the drawing board. But does any one know about any good speakers with a 12 that dosn't cost 10k i was thinking about getting carver plat. mk2 with the 60inch ribbion and 4 12's they would probly have to be rebulit, but from what i heard they compet with b&w etc. or i really like the mccitosh xlr390. don't know if that is the right name but they have 4-12's 5-5's and 12 tweeters but they are like 20k
