How this movie will sound on my home theater? I did today. i went and saw Iron Man 2 and the movie sounded so flat and two dimensional. I watched Iron Man 1 last night to prepare myself for 2 today and it sounded full and rich. Now that I got my sub all i need is a huge screen and I dont see the reason to see movies in the theater any more.

Btw I did enjoy the movie itself.

Sometimes I find the audio at a theater awesome, but sometimes I find it dull and lifeless, and almost no sub bass. I'm thinking that in some cases they don't have the sound up or the sub up as high at movies geared towards children, but I'm not completely convinced of that.
The quality of my experiences with different movies and different theaters (I always sit in the same area) has been so touch and go that I can't say for sure that its the movie's fault. I'm leaning towards the theater's, that is if they have any control to tweak the sound system any way they want.

Have you ever wondered if they even have it set up properly? Or even know how? I'll bet these things get set up and calibrated professionally upon installation, but who knows what happens if some employee plays with the settings? Oops!

I am sure thats exactly what the problem is. Movie theaters are not the pinnacle of audio/visual as some people think they are. Maybe a hand full are but these large chain theaters are run by a bunch of teens. I been to some movies that the surrounds are far louder then the mains, I have been to some that it was so loud i left with a headache. Honestly I still dont know why i pay $10 a person to see a movie. I consider my system a humbly small rig in comparison to whats out there but every time I play a quality cd or watch a movie with a great soundtrack I have a big grin.

I've found that most of the movie theaters around me have pretty poor sound for the most part. When I still had my HT system, it easily sounded better than my local theaters.
