From what I've been reading, it's still 1080p, just using a different codec and still based off of the HDDVD hardware...and at 1/4 the cost (retail) for the completed disk. Blu better take them seriously!

To be honest, I don't want another format war. I have ~55 HD-DVD movies and HD-XA2 to play them. HD-DVD was a great format, and a better format at the time but it's time to settle.

I believe the CBHD player will play HD-DVD's of old, so you're covered. They just need a "HD" player to play all the formats/media - how great would that be!
