Another Polk speaker pr. for my collection..the 9A/B

I found a pretty nice pr. of 9A's or 9B's today with the peerless tweeters.(no pin hole in the center of them)

I've bridged the gap in my collection...Polk+Bose= BOZO per AL. :o

Now I can show people What you get when you mate a Polk with a Bose.:D

I found out one of the tweeters doesn't play but when hooking the speaker wire directly to it , it plays just fine. I'll fix it one day soon I hope.

I'm really impressed (sorry to you guys who dissagree )with my first audition of them playing "SADE". They were in the middle of my room to, so when placing them near a wall, I know the bass will be even more powerfull. And only one tweeter was playing. Now it wasn't critical listening but just a general listen to their range.

Mine look like the set with velcro grill tabs and flush fitting tweeters. Just like em.:D

    I just took some pics of them but didn't use the tripod. 2 came out good but It did happen the other day.:D

    Now to put them in the "to fix" area of my cave.

    Very cool! I'm looking forward to hearing some listening impressions.

    Everyone always bashes these speakers...but I'd love to snag a pair sometime...or at least get my ears on some.

    Until a few days ago and the flurry of Model? 9A/B threads, nor did I. Even so, I'm curious about placement. Which side is front? The tweeter side I'd presume, but then are these positioned flat with the back wall?

    My ADS's are still for sale if that's what your asking.

    The Polk A9's have grill tags and they (I think ) belong on the tweeter side. They were on in that fashion when I bought this set but man, the highs that came off the backs were pretty darn nice too.
    I really didn't think the speaker needed the peerless except the one did add some airyness, sparkle and glitter if you will to the box that had it. just a more spread out upper notes sound floating around the top of the one box. I can't wait to fix the one and then see what kind of soundfield I hear at different widths apart and from the rear wall too. I have my monitor 10's with peerless also, so these could make a cool A/B receiver system. Both at once ....yeah..;) I would love to have monitor 5jrs with peerless;) and the monitor 7's with peerless to, why not... the whole collection!

    The ADS's have been sold. To attest to their quality, a fine gentleman who heard a friends' pr. of L-710's drove 5.5 hrs. one way the other day to buy mine, and while he was here, he allowed some time for an SDA demo. I think he will be looking for a pr. in the SC. area pretty soon.

    Another convert might have been made the other night. The best sounding speakers he's ever heard were the SDA-SRS2s here in the cave. He'll be looking around the Myrtle Bch. area, maybe...

    What a great designed set of speakers !;)
