Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Thanks. I know it isnt a TOTL HD TV by any means but considering I watch maybe 8-10 hrs of tv a week if that, it will work for me for another 7-8 years anyways. Being a cheap bastage finally paid off :D

That CL post was flagged for removal. Did you get the TV already or were you just trying to get one at a really good price? I see dozens of HDTV adds that are too good to be true every day. They are mostly from the same scam artists and they are usually removed quickly.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Thanks Cathy :) This is just big enough so I am using it as my new computer monitor also, as I get older my eyes get worse and the old PC monitor seemed smaller than it used to be :D

Sometimes good things come to those who wait.;)

Congrats on a great deal. It looks like a full HD TV to me.

I had a movie collection of around 600 or so.I downsized it to 400 or so now.

If and when you want a few recomendations, I'm sure a few of us can help you out. Now the Bluray list of movies is another topic that I myself will need help with since I only this past few weeks stuck my nose down that hole.

I saw the "5th Element" Bluray at a pawn shop and I think I read where they did a great job on the remastering to BR and I'll probably get it tomorrow or tues.. that will be 7 BRs I'll now own.

A PC monitor of 40" huh..

I guess your movie monitor should be around 110" when the time comes. One of those new 2160P models...;):p

That's a fantastic price for that. Sonys are pretty good LCDs, as you know they put all their money and tech, or rather they bet on LCD, and LCD related tech, rather than plasma, etc.

    Enjoy
