Made The Blu Plunge

Just picked up a Magnavox NB500MG1F at the local Walmart for $78. Pure impulse buy as I was walking around as a script was getting filled. I know this is a perfect example of falling for a marketing ploy:o, but Blu has had me waiting every since my Toshiba HD-A2 became obsolete 2 days after buying.
Anyhow these are not listed any longer on line, so I expect that all stores do not have them as they are dumping inventory of an older mod., but I could not resist the price, and the curiosity of what $78 can get. This is only a Profile 1.1 player, but a 1.0 would meet my requirements. So far I am very impressed. Use this on a 42" 720P Panny plasma, and it has as good if not better PQ as the A2, and maybe better SD upscaling, still need some time on this to say for sure. Then there is the DTS MA and Dolby TrueHD audio, which if there are any others wondering is a very big improvement in movie soundtracks. Start up and load time is fast enough for me, but again I'm referencing this to the A2.
Anyone else been sitting on the fence waiting for lower prices, this may fit your needs, and maybe with more finally making the move, the cost of discs will drop more, making this purchase even better.:p
