I have a possibility of getting a Mark Levinson ML9 mint.
Anyone have a Mark Levinson amp with either their RTA's or SDA's?
Cheers,
Scott

how many watts is it? I hear really good things about them.

I've got a pair of ML pieces.
IF they need service they have to go back to Harman/Levinson for service.
They charge $500 just to open the cover. A little FYI.
They sound good but there's a lot of good gear for the money.
I've been trying to find Camac connectors for a couple of months. They're $94 each at Harman Parts.
Be prepared to spend a bit of money keeping them updated and running.

They come with the Camac's. Thanks Harry for the warning.

nice deal on a very nice amp and with the Camacs too.. I know you will be quite happy with the sound........

Thanks NS!
They are 100 watts 8 ohms. -

Be very careful with the Camacs. A heavy IC cable will break them.
I'm using supports now to support my IC cables so I won't snap another one. I snapped two the first day I was using them with heavy cables. I've also gone back to AQ ICs to keep the weight down.
They're nice pieces and I like them. It's just gonna be an adjustment to using the ML stuff. -
Once again we meet at last.

That is very good info thanks!
I have a Zu Pivot "Y" cable for sound from my MacMini. Very lightweight. -
Nice score on the Levinson! Just out of curiosity... did you end up going with the 15TL's from Hawthorne (I saw you were looking from your other thread) or did you find a pair somewhere else? I haven't done any business with them but was consdering it and was wondering how you found the experience if you did.

Got the Levinson MINT condition and the DC Offset is perfect, original owner and scored the manual!
Hmmm.... I've dealt with Hawthorne since I was in high school and have to say I've got mixed reviews on them. Some folks love them, but some also think all they do is scrape up yard sales and then put some touch up paint and sell them for way more than they are worth. I tend to find them telling you what their ears like, and not trying to find out what is best for you. If I had to do business I would go down to Echo Hifi in Portland.
Though, check them out, see what you think.
So, I didn't buy the 15TL's there and still on a bit of search. I did find a pair of 104/2 on local CL for $300 so that just might satisfy me. Don't buy them, they are WAY overpriced. -
That should be a great combination.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

We couldn't find the Camac connectors or cables for them.
Any of you folks have any you might be willing to sell? -
Btw, where did you folks set the damping selector? Low/normal/high?
-
Found the Camac's finally! The ML is just singing now!

Glad the Camacs did the trick Scott.
Congrats,
Harry
