This has been discussed here many, many times, with forum members fairly divided over the procedure that they use. Some leave on 24/7 & others turn 'em off.

Some manuals, like mine, actually recommend leaving the amp on unless it won't be used for several days.

Im too cheap to leave anything drawign that much power on all the time. Plus where I live, there are too many storms and I dont want to lose it even despite having a power conditioner hooked up. Seems like it would also shorten the llifespan keeping it on 24x7.

    Off unless in use.

    Tubes dont dig power 24/7.

But Im the same with SS, and yes they do sound best warm. I dont think my rigs sound like crap cold, just better warm.

Mine are off and when the weather is bad I unplug my entire rig.

    ditto.

Also I don't feel like paying even more for an eletric bill so they go off. That and I tend to not like to have my apartment so hot I can't stand by the amp.

I used to turn off when not in use, except my kids would never remember to turn in on to watch TV or play Wii, and would sit there listening to the center and rears only, not knowing any better.

On 24/7 except when on vaca....
