Two amps to one set of RtiA5's

I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but let me explain my situation.

My setup
Yamaha VX463
Rtia5
Csi3
T-15
DSW Pro 600

I love my 463 It works great for my HT but I know I can do much better for 2ch music listening. The problem is that the 463 does not have preouts, and I dont think its wise for me to spend $400+ for a new AVR with preouts and then spend another 300+ for a 2ch amp.
Here is what I wanna do. My dad has a carver amp that he isnt currently using. i would like to run my cd player directly to the carver and then power my rtia's with the carver, But I still want my Rtia's to be used in my HT. So in simple terms my question is, Can I have both amps wired to my speakers and not have any issues. As long as they arent both on at the same time I cant seem to think of any downsides to doing this. I am still a novice in HQ audio so this is why I want to ask your guys opinions on this.

    I would not recommend this...
The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

Yeah, neither would I. Maybe banana plugs then swap the cables depending on what you want to listen to.

Doing so feeds voltage / current back to amp which is off, and in the wrong direction since it designed to feed not to be feed.

This AB selector switch (http://www.volutone.com/RUSS-AB22-TBL-TOP-SPEAKER-P692.aspx) would allow you to use your 463 and Dad's Carver amp safely on the same pair of speaker.

    Cheers!
