Well i came across deal of a lifetime on ebay and jumped on a buy it now purchase of a pro-ject rpm tt.The seller is in the uk,first thing i was concerned about was the long shipping. Then about thirty seconds after i agreed to buy it dawned on me,how is it gonna work with difference in voltage(110-220)?

Seller says a cheap plug adapter should do.Im not so sure. Please help with this guys cause if its gonna cost a fortune to make it work in the states, ill try to get out of the deal...thanks

p.s.Im no electrician so any wrk would have to be done in a shop.....any ideas appreciated.

Regardless of the route you go bro, your going to need a step-down converter. In my case I use step-up converters since I'm in Japan and all my gear is USA. See below

I think the main problem is not the voltage, which you can step down with an adapter. The issue is the frequency, which is 50Hz in UK compared with 60Hz in the US. This will affect the speed at which the electric motor runs. Frequency converters exist but they are very expensive, and for industrial use.

Unless there is a AC to DC conversion inside and the motor is DC. Maybe someone here knows more about the type of motors used in a TT.

Agreed the issue could be frequency of 60hz to a 50hz motor, but it could be a dc motor also. What did you buy what make and model maybe some could help you out.

Throwin' out some chaff...Do the Projects, or any other servo drive have a variable frequency drive from AC to DC servo? No matter what the input voltage?
