10b's with sl2000 tweets, that also looks like "The Receiver" from Carver with them.
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

now that I think more about it, it should be hands-on homework where I purchase each pair of Polks and test drive them. What does it matter that you know the model number but haven't experienced them? :)

dpowell, this is kinda funny to me cuz I can name just about all the vintage gear just by lookin at them. But anything post-1997 its difficult for me to say what they are. At this time I dont own any Polk speakers that were made after 1999. I am goin to get into the Lsi series before this year is over, most likely the 9's.

I guess it kind of depends on what era of Polks people were buying in. I was probably no more than 10 years old when the Monitor 10B's were being manufactured and certainly wasn't buying gear at that time. I'm quite familiar with stuff made in the late 90's (including the SRT's of course :D). I'm sure glad this forum turned me on to vintage Polks as I would have never bought SDA's (or even known what they are).

Also, what is "The Receiver" you are referring to?

Of the five vintage Polk models that my uncle or I own, only two were made while I was alive--the SRS 1.2TL's and my M5s2's. The other three--SDA-1's, Monitor 5B's, and CRS+'s--were all before I was born. I'm exceedingly happy that my uncle's SDA's were around while I was growing up, or else I'd have never heard them and now would have been happy listening to a boombox.

Anyways, I still don't know the differences between all of the different models of Monitor 7's and Monitor 10's. I think I pretty much god Monitor 5's down (except the earliest). Simply put, there's a LOT of variations. :p
