Going meatless in May

I say congrats on you wanting to eat more healthy.
Just remember that fried tofu, is not necessarily more healthy that the same size piece of good quality chicken. Quite often, it is less healthy, but loved by folks who don't want to eat meat.
I would highly suggest eating better quality food, more greens and less meat. -
Yes I was, I did mean 34 to a 32.If...

I love a good steak, but considering how often I actually eat red meat (pretty rarely, honestly) I could probably give it up easily. Even pork products... bacon's delicious but what do I have it, once a month?
But poultry? Just too much a part of my diet to avoid. And I think tofu is disgusting for the most part.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

Sorry I'm little late joining in the thread. I'm not a nutritionist by any means. But I do at least try to eat a little healthy. I'm not here to knock on what you've done (I couldn't) but when did meat start to become unhealthy to eat? I know red meat shouldn't be consumed daily but chicken, turkey, tuna, etc. etc. (if cooked correctly i.e not fried) are all supposedly healthy to eat.
I noticed you saying you feel less bloated and more energy. I never would have thought these symptons were the cause of eating meat. Now eating fast food/sweets and stop running will do that to me.
Sorry if you explained before, just curious as this is really news to me.AVR: H/K AVR240

Personally I don't see the point of going meatless. Going meatless isn't what is making you feel better anyways. It is likely because you were eating too much meat and other foods that weren't good for you in the amounts you were eating them in.
Being a strict twigs and nuts guy also leads to problems that won't manifest themselves instantly. Alternatives are not replacements. Meat is healthy for you in moderation.
The key is a well balanced diet, not shutting out a natural source of nutrition. There's nothing wrong with having a good amount of quality boneless/skinless chicken breast meat in your diet, for example.

I am a meataterian. I never eat veggies.

I did not change anything else and I never really had any rough days. It was very, very easy to quit. My wife and daughter still eat meat so I'm around it daily but it does not bother me in the slightest.
I am late to the thread as well. First off, I think that's great and cool to hear that the results were so good. But my question is how did you do it when you wife and daughter did not? I would be more tempted to try this, but my wife HATES eggs and really does not care for beans except in small doses, so it would make it very hard since I am the main cook to feed my wife and daughter without including these ingredients in the rotation.

Good advice.
To much of anything is bad for you. Yes, water is good for you, but too much will drown you.
Simple as that.
Btw, to the bloke who proudly only eats meat; I hope that's just a punchy joke as we'd hate to see you at your funeral. -
Another late comer here. I decided today after getting sick the last several times I've eaten beef that red meat is out. Not meatless by any means, but still....
Glad to hear you've done it and are feeling better as a result. Congrats to you. -
Well, I made it through the month and I feel so good I'm going to keep, going. Who knows, this might just be a complete lifestyle change for me.
Not eating bacon is bad for you, it will cause you to go insane.Vinyl, the final frontier...

I ate red meat 3 to 4 times a week, but almost no fast food (other then In-n-Out) once every couple of weeks. Fast food has not been in my diet for years, that **** is just too gross.
But, I do disagree with "Alternatives are not replacements", I think if done right, they sure can be.If...
