I have a pair of rti 70 and looking at getting csi 40 and rti 38. What would be a good ht receiver for this setup, marantz, denon, yamaha? i'm open to suggestion.

Does anyone know if the marantz dv4300 has the chroma-bug?

thanks

    glemay,

Nice setup you are putting together.

Get your read on and look back a few months under electronics and you will find a lot of anwers to your receiver questions.

    What's your budget??

If I were in your shoes, I'd be researching / listening to the following receivers which mate well with the RT line:

Denon AVR 3803 (lot of Denon people on the forum)
    NAD T752
    Rotel 1055

These tend to be the pricier receivers ($900 - $1300) but should suite you fine for a long time.

If your budget is less than $800 then take a look at the Outlaw 1050 (no DPLII though), perhaps the Denon 2802, or the Pioneer Elite 45.

    Good luck on your search,
    Paul

    glemai,
The receivers pjdami suggested are very good stuff but we need to know how much you're willing to spend.

Where in Ontario are you? I know a very good dealer in Mississauga that give great prices if you're paying cash. He carries Denon, Musical Fidelity, Pioneer and Sunfire. I bought my LSi9 there and paid much lower than retail. Let me know if you're interested.

The dv8300 has the bug. It might be prudent to assume the 4300 has it too until proven otherwise.

Mantis can point you in the right direction for an AVR that matches up well with your RTi speaks.

what exactly does the chroma bug do? Will u notice a diffrence in a DVD Player that has it and one that doesn't?

    Derick,,
It's Tabangi Electronics. They carry some very good stuff there. It's too bad they stopped carrying Rotel and AMC a few months ago. If you ever want to upgrade to the LSi, that's the place to go for great prices. Only one of the salesman(actually I think he's the owner) gives good discount, the others won't go as low. I also got my CSi40 and PSW650 there.

    glemay,
There is a Pioneer Elite that retails for $999CDN. Sorry I can't remember the model#. Denon, Yamaha, H/K, Onkyo, Marantz, etc all make good receivers around $1000CDN

    glemay,

Listen to as many as you can. Go with the one you like. That's the best way. I can't speak for Marantz but they seem to be pretty well regarded. Denon and Yamaha are pretty similar. It's all matter of personal taste.
