Bar none, Neil Peart is the best rock drummer of all time, IMHO. I know that is subject to some debate, but it is safe to say that the list of guys that are in his catagory is very, very short indeed.
The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

As great as he is, I give you Keith Moon (when drunk), John Bonham (doped up), and although not a rock drummer, the great Buddy Rich (reefered up)!!!

Peart doesn't seem to need the chemical boost though.

Not to mention Carl Palmer or Cozy Powell...straight or high.

Yes sir you are correct Sir! I wanted to keep a short list. Thanks for expanding it. I'm sure GG will chime in with some great drummers if he sees this.

As much as I admire Peart's playing, is he the best?
Nope, one of the best, definitely.
There are many others who can play circles around him.

That is obviously pre-recorded. There is NO WAY Animal is making double kick-drum sounds with only one kick-drum. Fake. :D

Are you saying Animal is no animal!?!?

As I recollect, wasn't he the drummer for Milli Vanilli? I guess that would explain the use of someone else's drum-work.:p:D

Nothing wrong with using your own dubbed stuff for a TV show.

Animal knows how to get down with 2 kick-drums.
