Based on what I read, I've decided to spend a little more and go with either:

DSW PRO 600

HSU VTF-1

SVS PB10-NSD

Just wondering what the general opinions of these subs are. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
George

I would go with HSU or SVS because that is pretty much all they do is specialize in subwoofers. Have not listened to a SVS but have listened to a DSW at tweeter and imo HSU beats it hands down. From what I read SVS is very high quality as well but front firing (if that matters to you). If you do not like it all you have to do to return it is eat the shipping costs.

Well, after all that I wound up getting a PSW505. I was all set to get the SVS PB10-NSD but then I noticed the price at Newegg of 229.00 plus 4.99 shipping. I couldn't resist.

Anyway, the PSW505 is a big improvement over the PSW12. Tighter and more controlled with music allowing more detail to be heard in the lower range that I was not expecting. I just started hearing things I hadn't before with some of my favorite blu-ray concert tracks. Also heard some lower notes that I hadn't previously. I have only tried a few passages from movies but there is also a definite improvement in low frequency special effects that brought a smile to my face. I guess I'd have to say greater impact and extension.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestion and while I'm sure the SVS and HSU subs a better still, I'm a happy camper for the time being.
