HELP sda 2 (orginals) tweeters fading at high volume.

My tweeters on SDA II are fading, both with or without inter. cable. Does anybody know what could be doing this. Had them a week, love the SDA effect and all is good at mid. vol. Is it the crossovers? My 15tl I can crank it and the sound amazing. So it's not the amp, Onkyo M501. I am at a lost.

Your polyswitches are dying.

You can:
-Replace them with new polyswitches; call Customer Service and they will send you a pair.
-Replace them with a jumper (or a 0.5 ohm resistor to do it right).
-Since you'll need to take the crossovers out and do some soldering, best option would be to do an upgrade with better/fresher parts while you're at it.

That was amazingly quick, you guys rock. Now I confess that don't know much about the
crossovers, but not afraid to learn and try. Are the polyswitches on the crossover it self,
or in line to the speaker. Once I feel good about this fix, the upgrade is option, but I feel like if I missed it up I would at a lost. As soon as I get home I will remove the passive, and
take a look. Untill then I'll do some research on the net, and any other comments here. Thanks again Ricardo!!!

Polyswitches are in the crossover. Modifying them are not a big deal. When I did my first one I learned to solder doing it. There are several threads that explain the process around here. Use the search function and you'll get them. Here's a couple I made (There's a ton of others):

Did a search for polyswitches, and found some info.
Glad I have no work to do at work!
And yes upgrading does not look to bad, but first I am dying to hear this babies sing the
way they should. Hopefully someday, I'll be able to help somebody out too and pass it forward. Thanks...
