Silly Norse people and their metal. :D

Check out Ensiferum if you like Tyr's style. I find them very similar.

Also, Circus Maximus - The First Chapter is a good one for nifty progressive metal. Not really similar in how they sound, but what they do (makeing something a bit more listenable than some guy palm-muting in drop-c with double pedal bass thumping incessantly) is kinda similar.

Maiden? I thought this thread was more about modern metal... But yea, Iron Maiden is probably my favorite heavy metal band...

Currently listening to equilibrium... It isn't bad. Some parts get a little too chug-a-chug for me, and I'm not a huge fan of the dirty vox. Otherwise, pretty cool.

its drawn from symphonic black metal, which explains the vox.

well, if we're including dirty vocals, you should have a go at Moonsorrow. I don't get much out of the singing, as it's both dirty and in Finnish IIRC, but it's pretty well composed, and cheesily epic.-

Hopefully it's good. I was about to say that I didn't really care for the last one, then looked it up and realized there are a couple I don't have already out... Silly me
